This letter will likely be a great deal more condensed than are my thoughts and feelings of appreciation and gratitude to you and to your wonderful staff who were there for me when my employment ended, counseled me through the rough times, taught me what was needed to successfully seek new employment, and supported me in so many ways until that became a reality. Looking back, my period of unemployment seemed like a very long time indeed while I was experiencing it but the reality of it amounted to 90 days under your skilled, watchful, supportive guidance and then another 92 days putting things together on my own. Well WORTH the Investment!
Because of my extensive experience in administration, finance, and customer service in the international arena, I was certain I would land a job quickly after moving here from Germany over four years ago. I was wrong. After several months of frustration, a contact referred me to Career Momentum.
Because I was not working at the time, it was difficult to explain to my wife why I wanted to spend money to professionally fine tune my job search. I was having a hard time justifying it to myself. I took a shot, based on a feeble voice telling me it was an investment in my future.
After just a few sessions with my consultant, that feeble voice grew into a feeling of confident energy, which continually built upon itself. My consultant worked with me to revamp my resume into a striking summary of my professional accomplishments. Just looking at those accomplishments so succinctly and vibrantly listed on paper boosted my confidence greatly. I received at least twice as many responses to my resume than I had before.
The consultant also worked with me on my interviewing skills. Some of the things my consultant taught me I already knew or had read about, but my consultant insured that I actually applied them by critiquing mock interview she conducted. This was extremely valuable when I finally did get invited for more interviews.
One of the things I learned at Career Momentum was the importance of networking. I thought I knew what networking was, and I had done it to some degree, but my consultant taught me how to network efficiently and effectively. Through the networking skills I learned, I now have numerous professional contacts and have even gained a few friends.

Clara Nydam of Career Momentum provided outplacement and career counseling services to me for about six months in 2003. At the end of June of that year, I ended a nine-year stint with an education software company, where I had been, at different times, CEO and head of several divisions. Clara's advice and instruction were instrumental in my development and evaluation of several career alternatives, culminating in acceptance of my current position as President of a national direct-marketer of original art and fine craft, at the beginning of 2004.
Clara is extremely knowledgeable about the techniques of self-evaluation, positioning, and marshalling of one's internal and external resources. Having myself been the hiring executive for many top management positions, I appreciated the realism and insights of her approach to potential employers, unlike the seemingly theoretical advice purveyed by some practitioners.
