Clara Hurd Nydam, SPHR - President and Principal Consultant

Insightful and caring, Clara helps her clients clarify priorities and overcome barriers. She coaches executives and professionals in finding their passion and focusing on their strengths. Applying a wealth of experience with people from widely diverse industries and professions to help her clients improve their effectiveness, she is a recognized expert on developing relationships in the workplace. Clara has coached countless individuals to success and intervened successfully in potentially derailing circumstances.

Clara completed a Masters Degree, served as an educator and recruited executives before establishing Career Momentum, Inc. in 1989. Executives have sought her advice to help them move their careers to the next level, to resolve team conflicts and to help them select and develop effective leaders. Since 2001, she has facilitated a monthly southern Wisconsin ExecuNet Networking meeting.

Clara is a qualified administrator of numerous assessments, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Profiles International assessments and the ASSESS. She holds a B.S. in History from the University of South Dakota and an MDiv. from Bethel Seminary (MN). She earned designations as a Master Career Counselor (MCDP) from the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Clara actively networks with business and professional leaders in Madison and Janesville. She is a member of the Madison Area Business Consultants (MABC), the Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Devices Association, the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), the Association for Psychological Type (APT), the Society of Human Resources and the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. She was invited to participate in the first TEC (The Executive Committee) Associates group formed in Madison and one of the first Peerspective leadership development groups sponsored by the UW Small Business Development Center. She also served on 2005 and 2006 judging panels for the Wisconsin Governor's Business Plan Contest.
